About Me
The Author Behind the Stories
Mangal D Karnad’s author journey is shaped by a lifelong relationship with words, observation, and lived experience. Her writing spans poems and stories, and children’s literature that explore memory, belonging, and everyday life.
Growing up in Mulki, Karnataka, a small coastal town, deeply influenced her understanding of childhood and community. These early experiences continue to influence her childhood stories with moral understanding, told through real moments rather than instruction. Her stories reflect resilience, fairness, and the subtle ways children learn by watching the adults around them.
Alongside children’s fiction, Mangal writes poems about life that examine ambition, ageing, work, relationships, and personal growth. Her developing poetry collection is grounded, reflective, and intentionally restrained, inviting readers to pause and think.
Beyond writing, Mangal is the co-founder of FableSquare, a digital marketing agency focused on helping brands express their authentic voice. While her professional career has shaped her strategic thinking, her author journey remains deeply personal, an exploration of family stories, and the process of authoring a book with honesty and care. When she is not writing or working with brands, Mangal can often be found crocheting for Yarn Bear, or reading quietly.
